One device was equipped with autofocus, and the second could be adjusted manually. Today I am experimenting with a fixed focus lens. These techniques, each of which offers a unique set of benefits and disadvantages, will be discussed in this article.
Description
The C960 is fitted with a pair of microphones equipped with noise reduction. Its camera lens consists of four layers of anti-glare glass and is of the fixed focus variety. This webcam may be clipped onto a laptop or a desktop monitor. It can also be placed on a flat surface or mounted to a tripod. To ensure the user is centered correctly, the camera may be angled upward or downward. This device connects to a computer employing a six-foot cable, terminated with a USB plug.

Connection
This webcam is connected to a computer via a six-foot cable terminated with a USB jack. I inserted a powered USB hub between the two, allowing me to remove power from the camera when it is not in use. The required drivers loaded automatically to Windows after the webcam was physically installed.
Mount
The eMeet C960 is fitted with a rubber-backed clip and can be attached to virtually any monitor or laptop. This camera may also be mounted to a tripod or placed on a desk.
Sound
I set up a Zoom meeting with an associate to assess how well this webcam performed under work-like conditions. My voice was reproduced crisply and clearly even when I backed away to a distance six-feet from the camera. The microphones’ noise reduction system completely muffled the air purifier’s loud hiss and the sound produced by tapping keys on my keyboard.
Focus
The C960 is fitted with a fixed focus system. This provides a reasonably crisp view of an entire room and is ideal when two or more people are included in the video. Some webcams are equipped with autofocus. This system works best when used with one participant because it keeps him in sharp focus even if he tends to pace back on forth across the room. Other webcams utilize a manually adjusted focus. This can be useful if you want to press an item, perhaps a document, close to the camera. In this case, the focus can be adjusted to ensure that this item is displayed correctly.
Video
The eMeet C960 provides a 90-degree viewing angle. This presents a view wide enough to include several people with only a minimal fish-eye effect. This device is fitted with three sets of LED lights; connected to flexible arms, which can be either dimmed or brightened. This lamp, which is intended for use with plants, looks very much like a prop from a 1950’s science fiction movie. Sample photographs were taken using Debut Video. My associate and I also experimented with lighting during a Zoom meeting. The C960 is designed to work under low light conditions. While this system did perform effectively, there can be side effects. On one occasion, the camera utilized my large and bright monitor as its primary light source. Unfortunately, the monitor’s output took on my shirt’s bluish color, adding an unhealthy tint to my facial features. To counteract this unpleasant alteration, I opened the door behind me. The added light turned off the low-level compensation and greatly improved the color. Under typical situations, colors appear to be natural, and everything within the viewing area is well focused.
Overall Impression
The output from the microphones is crisp, clear, and easy to understand. Once I sorted out the lighting requirements, the video proved to be excellent as well. The eMeet C960 is recommended.
