Walter B Shillington These chargers support Power Delivery. This specification denotes higher power capabilities, allowing USB-C PD-enabled devices to charge quickly over a USB connection. The two coupled devices negotiate a power contract, determining how much power will be pulled from the charger. Output voltages begin at the 5V setting but are configurable up to 20V. The output of these chargers can rise as high as 65 watts. If you own an iPhone 8 or a later version, your smartphone supports Power Delivery. Unfortunately, most models earlier than iPhone 11 came with a 5W power adapter. That works fine for those that charge their phone overnight. If, however, you are in a hurry, this device will not get the job done. Today I am taking a close look at the Ravpower RP-PC144. This tiny plug-in charger is PD capable and designed to charge an iPhone as high as 50 percent in only 30 minutes.

The end-user is assured that the product meets Apple’s stringent guidelines for quality control. Confidence in the manufacturer is increased because of the MFi license, enhancing sales of their products. Apple’s income increases because of the royalties they receive from the manufacturers.

Compatibility

USB Power Delivery support is becoming increasingly common in modern smartphones. Some handsets are also making use of the cross-compatibility feature of Qualcomm’s Quick Charge. Walter B Shillington The RP-PC144 charger is fully compatible with most type-C enabled mobiles, tablets, and gaming controllers. These include the latest iPhone 12/11 Pro, Galaxy Note 20/S20, iPad Pro 2018, and Switch. Not all devices are QC or PD-enabled. I plugged a few of my more pedestrian gadgets into both the USB-A and USB-C ports. While this assortment of tablets, water flossers, and earbuds could not take advantage of PD and QC functions, the charger still provided the power required to recharge them.

Safety Features

The Ravpower RP-PC144 has been designed to prevent over-voltage, overheating, and short-circuiting. Walter B Shillington
